About us
Our name is our promise: رجاء — hope.
Hope Organization for Development and Improvement is a local humanitarian, non-profit organization headquartered in Mosul, working with communities affected by war and natural disasters across Iraq.
Our story
Local from the first day.
We were founded in Mosul and we stayed in Mosul — through displacement, conflict, and return. Because our teams live in the communities they serve, we reach places and people that others cannot, and we remain long after emergency headlines fade.
Over more than a decade we have delivered 260+ projects across 14 areas: relief, rehabilitation, livelihood, emergency response, WASH, education, GBV awareness, psychosocial support, protection for women and children, and reconstruction.

What guides us
Vision, mission, and the way we work.
Vision
A productive society and noble souls.
Mission
Providing aid to vulnerable people deprived of basic living standards.
Accountability
We help lead the sub-national PSEA network protecting displaced people — especially women and children — alongside lawyers, human rights defenders, and local NGOs in Mosul and Duhok.
